Webinar Presenter Process
Thank you for your interest in serving as a PES webinar presenter! PES provides high quality power and energy education, and we are looking forward to adding your expertise to the content available to our members.
Below is an overview of what you can expect from the PES webinar process and what information we’ll need from you in order to schedule your webinar. Typically, the process, including review and scheduling, requires approximately 3 weeks.
Step 1: Submit completed application and draft presentation
If you have not already, submit a completed application and draft presentation following the steps below.
- Application – please complete this application fully to ensure proper routing of your application
- IEEE Copyright & Consent Form – complete, sign, and return the consent form
- Draft presentation – The PES template is required for all webinars. Within this template, you’ll find best practices slides that will assist you in creating a presentation using the template
- Post-Webinar Assessment Questions (if applicable) – please provide five multiple choice or true/false questions with an answer key. This is required for webinars that will be eligible for CEUs/ PDHs
Step 2: PES review
Once submitted, your application and presentation will be routed for review. Depending on the subject matter in your presentation, this review may take 1 – 2 weeks and may include:
- Content review by the sponsoring technical committee
- Review by the Selection & Quality Control committee to confirm the appropriateness of content for PES University
- Review by the Selection & Quality Control committee for content and instructional design quality
Once the required reviews are complete, your presentation will be returned to you with any comments captured during the review process.
Step 3: Schedule and announce webinar
Once your presentation has been reviewed, PES Staff will reach out to confirm a date for your webinar and discuss the webinar delivery process. PES will promote the webinar on its website and newsletter. You are strongly encouraged to promote your webinar within your professional network as well.
Step 4: Submit final presentation
No less than two weeks prior to the scheduled webinar, you should submit a final copy of your presentation.
Step 5: Conduct webinar
You’ll review the process for delivering the webinar in advance of the scheduled date, including an opportunity to practice delivering the webinar.
Step 6: Post recording
After you present, a recording of the webinar will be posted to the PES Resource Center and website. We encourage you to share this recording with individuals in your professional network who may benefit from hearing you share your expertise. If you are interested in information such as how many people attended and evaluation feedback, please contact LaToya Gourdine.
