We have the students in either small groups around tables or the chevron for group work. When it comes to actual engagement I have everyone sit in a circle and I as the facilitator sit with my side to the screen so that I’m not in the power position. I’ve found that without the tables the students are more likely to engage in a guided discussion during the lesson since we remove the barriers (the tables).

Thank you for the question, Barbara. We mostly focused on live sessions so far, but remote facilitation is getting to be more frequent. Sounds like an interesting topics to cover in the future :-)
