Workshop on ” Field Instruments for Process Control”


Kuttippuram, 2-4 November, 2016: The workshop on ” Field Instruments for Process Control”, jointly organized by IEEE RAS Kerala Section and Industry institute interaction cell, Department of AEI, MESCE Kuttippuram was conducted on the 2nd to 4th of November in association with Yokogawa India Ltd.
Professional representatives came over to give the students an over view and detailed workshop on field instruments. The students were given hands on training on the usage of sensors, transmitters and controllers. They were familiarized with various types of sensors and transmitters. On the final day, the students did the control of an actual process by connecting the sensors and transmitters and controlled the process. The workshop provided the students a platform to know more about the basics, functions and applications of the Field Instruments and provided them a hands-on experience of working with various valuable instruments.
The workshop had both theory and practical sessions. Booklets and follow-up materials were given for future reference and to guide them through self-practice sessions. The workshop fulfilled its main aim of introducing the practical aspects of engineering to fresher and igniting in them an interest to fiddle around with these components and Instruments.
The program was inaugurated by Our Principal. Prof. V.H. Abdul Salam which was presided by Vice Principal, Dr. Bedeeuzzaman. The welcome speech was done by Mr. Shahad Bangala Veedu, Vice Chair of IEEE SB and Mr. Jasim, Treasurer IEEE RAS MESCE concluded the ceremony with vote of thanks.
