Photos as children
An activity to get to know each other- from a different perspective, as children
Goal
Get to know each other; celebrate diversity
Materials
Instructions
Set Up
Ask everyone to bring in one photo of themselves as a baby, unlabeled. Display all of the photos.
Directions
Each person guesses the identity of each baby. This can be at a single gathering or ongoing in casual interactions.
Debrief
Have each person tell something about their background. Discuss how the diversity may influence the team's interactive or work styles.
Alternatives
The photos can be of team members at different ages, e.g., as teenagers, or "10 years ago." People can write their guesses about the identities on paper provided by each photo. Photos can be shared physically or on a shared electronic space.
